Lynk & Co has recently introduced two more affordable variants of its Z20 electric vehicle. These new models aim to attract price-sensitive customers in the increasingly competitive compact EV market. Announced on the 22nd, the variants now come with a “Fiji Green” color option. Additionally, Lynk & Co has made strategic adjustments to the battery capacity and motor power to reduce the price while retaining the car’s essential appeal.
The two new variants are:
- 430km Rear-Wheel Drive Plus: Limited-time price of 109,900 yuan (15,200 USD)
- 430km Rear-Wheel Drive Pro: Limited-time price of 118,900 yuan (16,500 USD)
Compared to the original Z20 models, Lynk & Co has made several key specification changes. For example, the motor power has decreased from 250kW (335 hp) to 175kW (235 hp). The range also dropped from 530km to 430km, and the wheel size has changed from 19 inches to 18 inches. Additionally, the 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system is now optional rather than standard.
Nevertheless, the Z20 electric vehicle still retains its signature design features. It still includes hidden rain gutters, frameless doors, and frameless mirrors. Furthermore, the “luminous wing” tail light design remains, combining the spoiler and 504 LED lights spanning 1463mm, which creates a distinctive lighting signature.
Inside, the new variants maintain nearly identical interior design elements. These elements include a 15.4-inch central display, a 13.8-inch heads-up display (HUD), and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. The Dynamic Island feature also remains, allowing the central console to transform into personalized spaces, such as pet compartments or coffee stations.
Along with these new variants, Lynk & Co has released a software update for the Z20. This update improves five areas: intelligent parking assistance, sentry mode, map navigation, ecosystem applications, and vehicle controls. Some of the new features include remote parking, enhanced security monitoring, visual lane guidance, and access to popular apps like Bilibili and Kugou Music.
As for performance, the new Z20 variants continue to provide strong handling. The vehicles feature the SEA architecture, MacPherson front suspension, and five-link independent rear suspension. They also come with Brembo ventilated disc brakes and Bosch One-box brake controllers. In terms of safety, the Z20 retains its five-star Euro NCAP rating. It also features a body made of 81.62% high-strength steel, seven airbags, and an eight-layer battery protection system.
Since launching in December, Lynk & Co has delivered approximately 27,000 Z20 vehicles. The company introduced these more affordable variants amid rising price competition in the compact EV market. Brands like Mini, Smart, and Nio’s Firefly have aggressively reduced their prices, pushing competitors like Lynk & Co to offer more affordable options.
