Lucid DreamDrive Pro Gains Hands-Free Driving Upgrade

Lucid announced a major update to its DreamDrive® Pro suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to deliver Hands-Free Drive Assist and Hands-Free Lane Change Assist to its award-winning lineup of electric vehicles. These and other vehicle enhancements will be available as an over-the-air (OTA) update for Lucid Air owners, scheduled for July 30, and for Lucid Gravity owners later this year.

Lucid DreamDrive Pro just received a major update, unlocking hands-free driving and lane change capabilities for select models. This marks a key milestone in Lucid Motors’ commitment to advancing its ADAS and autonomous driving systems.

With this upgrade, drivers can now enjoy intuitive hands-free control and signal-activated lane changes on supported highways. These features enhance comfort while keeping the driving experience smooth and safe. As a result, Lucid owners are getting a true preview of autonomous driving.

Lucid has designed DreamDrive Pro as a flexible and future-ready system. It combines cutting-edge sensors—LiDAR, radar, surround-view cameras, and ultrasonic sensors—into a single, intelligent package. These work together with Lucid’s proprietary software to deliver real-time awareness of surroundings, enabling safer and smarter driving decisions.

Kai Stepper, Vice President of ADAS and Autonomous Driving at Lucid, emphasized the platform’s future potential. “The addition of these features to Lucid’s DreamDrive Pro offers a glimpse into the future that Lucid is building,” he said. According to Stepper, the system leverages a fully in-house software stack, a comprehensive suite of 32 sensors, and frequent OTA updates. Therefore, Lucid has a roadmap that allows for even more advanced features in the near future.

Currently available as an optional upgrade, Lucid DreamDrive Pro is engineered to grow over time. Unlike many competitors, Lucid avoids third-party software dependence. Instead, it integrates hardware and software under one vision, building a more seamless and secure driving system.

Owners also benefit from continuous over-the-air updates. These updates add new features, improve performance, and enhance personalization—all without requiring a service visit. Over time, every update makes the Lucid DreamDrive Pro experience more refined and driver-centric.

Moreover, this system represents Lucid’s broader commitment to innovation. By pushing the boundaries of what ADAS can deliver, Lucid aims to transform every journey into something safer, smarter, and more enjoyable. While full autonomy is still on the horizon, DreamDrive Pro shows how fast the company is moving toward it.

Lucid is not just improving convenience. It is redefining how premium electric vehicles interact with their drivers. The newest additions to Lucid DreamDrive Pro signal that the company’s autonomous future is taking shape—one update at a time.
