The LG Automotive Content Platform is officially live in Europe, powering in-car streaming for the all-electric Kia EV3. Today, LG confirmed that its webOS-based ACP is now available for the EV3, with upcoming Kia models like the EV4 and EV5 set to follow.
LG originally launched this smart in-car platform in South Korea, home to both Kia and LG. After its successful rollout there, the company has now introduced it across European markets. The platform runs on webOS, the same operating system that drives over 240 million LG smart TVs around the world.
The LG Automotive Content Platform is designed specifically for the car environment. It delivers instant access to entertainment and services, tailored for both drivers and passengers. While the experience is rich and immersive, LG has ensured full compliance with safety regulations. Streaming is only available while the vehicle is parked, allowing users to relax and enjoy without distractions on the road.
This in-car streaming system offers an experience similar to that of a smartphone or smart TV. The infotainment display transforms into a full entertainment hub, complete with a wide selection of content apps. Current streaming options include Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, LG Channels, Stingray Karaoke, Play.Works, Haystack News, Baby Shark World for Kids, and Vasari.
In addition to these, LG says the platform will support Rakuten TV, Napster, and Joyn later this year. These additions will further broaden the in-car streaming catalog, making long waits or charging sessions more enjoyable.
With this rollout, LG extends its reach into the automotive tech sector, using its popular webOS system to enhance everyday driving. The platform integrates seamlessly into Kia’s EV architecture, offering both stability and a familiar interface. Passengers can expect quick app loading, fluid interaction, and rich media content optimized for vehicle displays.
Kia and LG’s collaboration underscores the growing demand for connected car features. As more EVs enter the market, in-car infotainment is becoming a key factor in customer satisfaction. LG’s move also positions it as a major player in this new entertainment space.
