BYD has officially launched the ATTO 3 EVO, and this is far more than a minor refresh. The updated electric SUV delivers significant upgrades in performance, range, charging speed, and interior space—making it a compelling evolution of an already popular model. Built on BYD’s advanced e-Platform 3.0, the EVO version enhances efficiency, handling, and overall driving dynamics.
One of the most notable changes is the introduction of two distinct powertrain options. Unlike the original ATTO 3, which used only a front-wheel-drive layout, the EVO now offers a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) “Design” trim and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) “Excellence” variant. Additionally, BYD has upgraded the rear suspension to a five-link system, which improves ride comfort and cornering stability.
The Design trim features a single 230kW (313PS) motor, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. For those seeking even greater performance, the Excellence trim adds a second motor up front. Together, they produce 330kW (449PS)—enough to hit 100 km/h in only 3.9 seconds. This level of acceleration rivals sports cars, not typical family SUVs.
Both versions use a 74.8kWh battery paired with an 800V electrical architecture. As a result, the BYD ATTO 3 EVO supports ultra-fast charging at up to 220kW. At a compatible station, drivers can recharge from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes. In terms of range, the RWD model achieves up to 510 km (WLTP), while the AWD version offers approximately 470 km—still highly competitive for daily and long-distance use.
Despite unchanged exterior dimensions—4,455 mm long, 1,875 mm wide, and 1,615 mm tall—engineers have cleverly increased interior utility. The trunk capacity grows by 50 liters to 490 liters. With the rear seats folded, it expands to 1,360 liters. Moreover, a new 101-liter “frunk” under the hood provides extra storage for charging cables, groceries, or small gear.
Inside, the cabin centers around a class-leading 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen. It runs a smart infotainment system with Google Maps and an integrated voice assistant. Drivers can control climate, navigation, and media using natural voice commands. To enhance cabin openness, BYD relocated the gear selector to the steering column, freeing up the center console.
Safety remains a priority. The BYD ATTO 3 EVO includes seven airbags and advanced driver-assistance systems. These cover blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. It also boasts a 1,500 kg towing capacity—unusual for an electric compact SUV—making it suitable for small trailers or camping gear.
In Europe, the current ATTO 3 starts around €38,990, depending on the market. While EVO pricing will be higher, BYD emphasizes strong value through standard features. Notably, the car includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing owners to power external devices—like laptops, coffee makers, or camping equipment—directly from the vehicle.
The first deliveries of the BYD ATTO 3 EVO are scheduled for spring 2026. To reassure buyers, BYD offers a comprehensive warranty: six years on the vehicle and eight years or 250,000 km on the battery.
With its blend of performance, practicality, and cutting-edge tech, the ATTO 3 EVO isn’t just an update—it’s a statement. For families seeking a capable, future-ready electric SUV, BYD has raised the stakes significantly.
