Chery has opened pre-sales for the Jetour Zongheng G700, a new plug-in hybrid off-road SUV, at the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show. Customers can reserve the vehicle with a 700 yuan (98 USD) deposit. The official pricing has not yet been announced. The Zongheng series marks Jetour’s entry into the rugged, full-size off-road SUV market.
Bold Design with Off-Road Cues
The Jetour Zongheng G700 features a classic boxy silhouette, emphasizing its off-road identity. It includes a rear-mounted spare tire and front and rear towing hooks for added utility. The upright stance and muscular fenders enhance its adventurous look.
Digital taillights offer a modern twist. Users can customize them to display shapes or text, adding a unique personal touch. The full LED lighting suite improves visibility and style.
Advanced Driver Assistance System
The SUV uses Chery’s Falcon 500 driving assistance platform. It supports high-speed NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and automated parking. These features enhance safety and convenience on and off the road.
Sensors and cameras provide 360-degree awareness. The system adapts to terrain and traffic, making long drives and tight trails easier to navigate.
Dimensions and Off-Road Capability
As a full-size SUV, the Jetour Zongheng G700 measures 5,198 mm long, 2,050 mm wide, and 1,956 mm high. It has a 2,870 mm wheelbase, ensuring spacious interiors and stable handling.
It boasts a maximum ground clearance of 320 mm and a wading depth of 970 mm. The vehicle can cross deep water for up to 40 minutes at a speed of 4.5 knots. The cabin resists water pressure up to 20 kPa and water currents of 5 m/s, ensuring safety during river fording.
The SUV supports intelligent all-terrain mode and low-speed four-wheel drive. Drivers can switch between mud, sand, rock, and snow modes with ease.
Powertrain: High-Performance Hybrid System
The Jetour Zongheng G700 runs on Chery’s Kunpeng CDM-O super-performance hybrid system. It combines a 2.0T engine with dual electric motors and a 2-speed DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission).
Total system output reaches 560 kW (751 hp) and 795 Nm of torque. The 2.0T turbo engine delivers 155 kW (208 hp) and 340 Nm, with a best-in-class 45.5% thermal efficiency.
Fuel consumption is just 1.39 L per 100 km in hybrid mode. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, rivaling performance cars.
Long Range and Fast Charging
The SUV features a 4C Shenxing battery pack from CATL, supporting ultra-fast charging. It takes only 10 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% under DC fast charging.
With a full charge and fuel tank, the Jetour Zongheng G700 achieves a total range of 1,400 km. This makes it ideal for long expeditions without frequent refueling.
Luxurious and Tech-Forward Interior
Inside, the cabin blends rugged style with premium comfort. Box-shaped door trims and square air vents match the SUV’s tough exterior.
A 15.6-inch central touchscreen controls infotainment and settings. Behind the steering wheel, a massive 35.4-inch telescopic display provides navigation, driving data, and entertainment.
The flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel adds a sporty feel. It includes controls for driving modes, audio, and driver assistance.
