The BMW iX3 electric car is ready to reshape the electric SUV landscape. Built entirely on BMW’s Neue Klasse platform, it avoids the limitations of retrofitted gasoline models. As a result, it delivers a true EV experience that seamlessly integrates power, technology, and design.

At the center of the iX3 sits BMW’s “Heart of Joy”—a central computing unit that replaces dozens of separate controllers. Rather than managing systems independently, this single processor handles nearly everything. Consequently, the vehicle responds faster and feels more cohesive. Early reviewers noted how smooth and natural the one-pedal driving mode felt.

The BMW iX3 electric car uses sixth-generation battery technology. BMW will equip the SUV with a 100 kWh battery that supports up to 644 km of range on the EPA cycle. European WLTP estimates climb to 800 km. Dual motors produce 400 horsepower, ensuring that performance remains a strong focus. Moreover, the 800V system allows ultra-fast charging. During a test in France, the iX3 reached a peak of 403 kW, which enabled it to add more than 350 km of range in just 10 minutes.

Inside, BMW introduces the Panoramic iDrive system. Instead of a traditional gauge cluster, drivers view vital data through BMW Panoramic Vision—a projection stretching across the base of the windshield. Additionally, the cabin features a rhomboid-shaped center touchscreen and shy-tech controls on the steering wheel. These haptic buttons only appear when needed, offering a minimalist yet practical interface. With the optional 3D head-up display, navigation guidance appears as though it floats on the road.

Camouflaged prototypes already offer a glimpse of the final design, which closely resembles the Vision Neue Klasse X concept. Although BMW has not revealed the price, the iX3 will likely slot between the current X3, starting at €45,000, and the BMW iX, which begins at €67,600. This wide pricing window makes the final figure one of the most anticipated details ahead of launch.

In summary, the BMW iX3 electric car introduces a bold vision for the future of driving. It combines fast charging, long range, performance, and digital intelligence in a single package. With the Neue Klasse platform as its foundation, the iX3 stands not just as another electric SUV, but as a flagship for what BMW’s electric future can achieve.
