2025 GMC Yukon Sees $5000 Price Hike Ahead of Australian Launch

The 2025 GMC Yukon price in Australia has jumped by $5000, now listed at $174,990 before on-road costs. This increase comes just weeks before the first customer deliveries begin in May 2025.

Originally, the Yukon launched at $169,990 in November 2024. GM attributed the price rise to foreign exchange rate changes and increased production costs. A spokesperson confirmed that the company reviewed pricing due to ongoing market volatility.

GM Specialty Vehicles has finished the first showroom-ready units in Melbourne. Walkinshaw Automotive Group converted the left-hand-drive SUVs to right-hand drive. The same company also modifies models like the Ram 1500 and Toyota Tundra.

Australian buyers get only the top-tier Yukon Denali model. It features a 6.2-litre petrol V8 engine producing 313kW and 624Nm. A 10-speed automatic transmission and an advanced four-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing complete the drivetrain.

The Yukon Denali includes 24-inch alloy wheels, adaptive air suspension, and Magnetic Ride Control. A 16.8-inch infotainment screen, 14-speaker Bose audio, and a 15-inch head-up display enhance cabin tech. It also comes with tri-zone climate control, wireless charging, and a panoramic dual-pane sunroof.

Second-row passengers enjoy dual 12.6-inch HD screens, USB ports, heated seats, and separate climate control. The cabin seats eight and includes leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats with memory settings.

Towing capacity exceeds 3500kg. Trailer-friendly features include sway control, blind-spot monitoring for trailers, hitch guidance, and a rear camera view for easier alignment. These features make the Yukon a strong rival to the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series and Nissan Patrol.

In terms of size, the Yukon Denali outclasses most of its competitors. It measures 5338mm long, 2058mm wide, and 1941mm tall. Its 3071mm wheelbase is 221mm longer than that of the LandCruiser 300 Sahara. Thanks to air suspension, it can raise its ride height by up to 51mm for added ground clearance.

The GMC Yukon also competes with the Lexus LX, which starts from $155,976. However, it offers more cabin space, powerful V8 performance, and extensive towing technology.

Customer deliveries across Australia will begin next month. While the 2025 GMC Yukon price in Australia is steep, it brings unmatched size, luxury, and utility to the premium SUV market.
