March Car Launches are accelerating the pace of competition in the global auto market as manufacturers introduce a wave of electric and hybrid vehicles. Several major brands have unveiled new models this month. These launches highlight rapid innovation in battery technology, performance engineering, and intelligent driving systems.
According to industry tracking data from Gasgoo, more than ten major vehicles are launching or debuting during March. Among the most anticipated are the 2026 XPENG X9 BEV, GAC HYPTEC A800, BYD Great Tang, and the refreshed Denza Z9GT. Together, these vehicles reflect the industry’s aggressive push toward electrification and smart mobility.
Already launched vehicles set the tone for the March Car Launches surge. The 2026 XPENG X9 BEV officially entered the market on March 2 with five variants priced between 309,800 and 369,800 yuan. The vehicle delivers impressive electric performance with a range from 650 km to 750 km.
XPENG also introduced a Super Range Extender Ultra SE edition priced at 321,800 yuan. The X9 BEV stands out as a large seven-seater electric vehicle designed for long-distance travel and premium comfort. Moreover, the vehicle features 5C ultra-fast charging across all variants.
The model consumes 15.9 kWh per 100 km and supports rapid charging speeds. It also includes innovative interior seating configurations that transform into four, five, six, or seven seat layouts. Zero-gravity seats recline to 180 degrees and include built-in airbags.
Furthermore, XPENG added active rear-wheel steering to improve maneuverability. As a result, the vehicle achieves a minimum turning radius of 5.4 meters. Intelligent dual-chamber air suspension and a run-flat stability system further enhance ride quality and safety.
Technology also plays a major role in the March Car Launches lineup. The XPENG X9 uses the advanced Turing chip. This processor delivers computing power of up to 2,250 TOPS. Consequently, the automatic emergency braking system now operates at speeds up to 130 km/h.
Another important launch is the GAC Aion i60 Range Extender Success Edition. The model debuted on March 2 with a competitive price of 102,800 yuan. The vehicle targets buyers seeking affordable electrified mobility.
The new i60 retains most features of the existing version. However, GAC optimized the configuration mix to lower the entry price. The vehicle also introduces an updated front design featuring dual LED headlights and vertical air intake ducts.
In addition, the model measures 4,685 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. This extended wheelbase improves interior comfort compared with earlier AION models.
Power comes from a 1.5-liter range-extender engine combined with a 29 kWh battery. The system delivers a pure electric range of 210 km and a total driving range of 1,240 km. Meanwhile, the front motor produces 180 kW and 280 Nm of torque.
Fuel consumption remains relatively low. When the battery is depleted, the vehicle uses only 5.5 liters per 100 km. Charging technology also improves efficiency. The car supports 3C fast charging and can recharge from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 15 minutes.
Several upcoming launches will further expand the March Car Launches wave. One of the most anticipated vehicles is the GAC HYPTEC A800. The company plans to unveil the flagship sedan on March 4.
The A800 targets premium business and family travel segments. Designers gave the sedan a closed front fascia and split headlight design. Hidden door handles and turbine-style wheels reinforce the vehicle’s futuristic styling.
The sedan measures 5,130 mm in length and offers a 3,020 mm wheelbase. Power comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged range-extender engine producing 118 kW. Buyers can choose between a 200 kW single-motor setup or a powerful 440 kW tri-motor configuration.
Battery capacity reaches 35.03 kWh using lithium iron phosphate technology. The system provides electric driving ranges of up to 178 km under WLTC testing conditions.
Another major highlight among March Car Launches is the BYD Great Tang. The company confirmed its flagship D-class SUV will debut on March 5.
The vehicle continues the design language of BYD’s Dynasty-D concept. A continuous front light bar and illuminated logo create a distinctive look. Vertical headlights flank the closed grille to widen the visual stance.
BYD equips the Great Tang with its advanced super e-platform. The vehicle uses a 1000-volt high-voltage architecture designed for ultra-fast charging. With a flash-charging battery capable of 10C charging rates, the system may reach charging power of up to 1000 kW.
The Denza Z9GT also receives a major upgrade as part of the March Car Launches lineup. BYD confirmed a technology refresh for the luxury model on March 5.
The updated Z9GT adds a new Fjord Green exterior and revised intelligent driving sensors. Engineers relocated the LiDAR unit to the roof for improved visibility. New 21-inch wheels enhance both performance and appearance.
The pure electric version offers impressive driving range options. Depending on configuration, the vehicle can travel between 820 km and 1,036 km under CLTC testing standards.
Performance remains strong. The single-motor version produces 370 kW of power. Meanwhile, the high-performance tri-motor variant combines three electric motors delivering outputs of 230 kW, 310 kW, and 310 kW.
Beyond electric sedans and SUVs, performance models are also part of the March Car Launches wave. Lynk & Co will introduce the third-generation 03 Large Spoiler Edition on March 5.
The model features a carbon fiber rear wing with adjustable angles of 0°, 8°, and 16°. Designers engraved a map of the Ningbo International Circuit on the side panel, highlighting the vehicle’s motorsport heritage.
Inside, the cabin uses a striking Blazing Red interior. Red leather covers the seats, doors, and center console. Carbon fiber trim and detailed stitching emphasize the sporty design theme.
The vehicle uses a Drive-E 2.0TD T5 Evo turbocharged engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 272 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Consequently, the sedan accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds.
The surge of March Car Launches shows how rapidly the automotive industry is evolving. Automakers continue investing heavily in electrification, intelligent driving technology, and high-performance engineering.
As electric vehicles become more advanced and affordable, competition across the global market will intensify. Therefore, the models introduced this month may shape consumer expectations and industry trends in the years ahead.
