Xiaomi SU7 EV upgrade marks a major step forward as the company improves range, performance, and safety across its electric sedan lineup. The updated model introduces a new motor, faster charging, and stronger driver assistance systems, while also lowering its entry price.

Xiaomi launched the refreshed SU7 in China with a starting price of 219,900 yuan. This price sits below earlier expectations and makes the car more competitive in the growing electric vehicle market. It also undercuts the starting price of key rivals such as the Tesla Model 3 in China.

Early demand signals strong interest. The company received more than 15,000 confirmed orders within the first 34 minutes of sales. This response highlights how the Xiaomi SU7 EV upgrade is attracting attention in a crowded EV segment.

The new lineup includes three variants. The standard model starts at 219,900 yuan. The Pro version costs 249,900 yuan, while the Max variant reaches 303,900 yuan. Each version now benefits from the same core upgrades, which bring more consistency across the range.

Battery improvements form a key part of the update. The standard model now runs on a 73 kWh battery with a 752-volt system, replacing the previous 400-volt setup. The Max variant uses a 101.7 kWh battery with an upgraded 897-volt system. These changes allow faster energy flow and better efficiency.

Charging speed has improved significantly. The previous version could add about 510 km of range in 15 minutes. The new model can now add up to 670 km in the same time under the CLTC cycle. This change makes the Xiaomi SU7 EV upgrade more practical for long-distance travel.

Range figures have also increased across all variants. The standard model now reaches 720 km, up from 700 km. The Pro extends to 902 km, while the Max improves to 835 km. These numbers place the SU7 among the longest-range electric sedans in its class, although real-world results may vary.

Performance gains come from a new motor system. All variants now use the V6s Plus motor. The standard model delivers 235 kW, up from 220 kW. The Max variant produces 507 kW, giving it strong acceleration and high output. The Pro and standard models use rear-wheel drive, while the Max uses all-wheel drive.

Acceleration figures reflect these upgrades. The standard model reaches 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. The Pro takes 5.7 seconds, while the Max achieves the same sprint in just 3.1 seconds. These numbers place the Max alongside top performance EVs in its segment.

Handling has also improved. Xiaomi increased rear tyre width from 245 mm to 265 mm. The company also added dual-chamber air suspension and adaptive dampers to all variants. Previously, only the Max included this feature. This change improves ride comfort and stability across the lineup.

Safety upgrades stand out as one of the most important aspects of the Xiaomi SU7 EV upgrade. The company expanded protection features after earlier concerns about safety incidents. All models now include nine airbags instead of seven. Engineers also reinforced the body structure and improved braking systems.

Driver assistance systems received major upgrades as well. LiDAR sensors now come standard on all variants. Earlier models limited this feature to higher trims. Computing power for the autonomous system has increased to 700 TOPS across the range, replacing lower performance setups in older models.

These improvements aim to enhance driver confidence and system reliability. Xiaomi also added emergency backup power for door locks, ensuring they function even in critical situations.

The updated SU7 also competes strongly on value. The Max variant delivers performance similar to premium EVs while maintaining a lower price in China. It matches the acceleration of high-performance rivals while costing significantly less in its home market.

Xiaomi plans to expand beyond China. The company has confirmed that it will launch in Australia in early 2027. The SU7 will lead this expansion, though final pricing remains unclear. This move signals Xiaomi’s ambition to compete globally in the electric vehicle market.

At the same time, the company continues to refine its product strategy. It has not confirmed whether similar upgrades will reach the YU7 SUV, which shares a platform with the SU7. However, the success of the sedan may influence future updates.

The Xiaomi SU7 EV upgrade shows how quickly the EV market is evolving. Automakers now focus on faster charging, longer range, and advanced safety systems to attract buyers. Xiaomi has responded with a package that combines performance, technology, and competitive pricing.

These changes position the SU7 as a strong challenger in the electric sedan space. With improved capabilities and strong early demand, the model could play a key role in Xiaomi’s long-term automotive strategy.

As competition continues to grow, the SU7’s success will depend on how well it delivers in real-world conditions. For now, the update signals a clear intent to compete at the highest level in the global EV market.
