Mercedes Electric C-Class pricing is now official as Mercedes-Benz prepares to expand its next-generation electric sedan lineup with longer-range and lower-cost variants.
The company unveiled pricing for the dual-motor C400 4Matic in Germany this week, while also confirming that additional versions will follow. The electric sedan starts at €67,711 in its current configuration, placing it significantly above the price of the combustion-powered C-Class.
Mercedes appears determined to position the vehicle as a natural extension of its traditional sedan range rather than as a separate electric experiment. However, its technology, pricing and range ambitions clearly place it within the rapidly evolving premium EV segment.
The automaker also teased a future single-motor rear-wheel-drive version capable of delivering around 497 miles, or 800 kilometers, under the WLTP testing cycle.
Mercedes Electric C-Class Pushes Range Higher
The upcoming rear-wheel-drive model would offer more range than the currently announced C400 4Matic, which carries a WLTP rating of 473 miles, or 762 kilometers.
Although WLTP figures tend to be more generous than U.S. EPA ratings, industry analysts still expect the future Mercedes Electric C-Class to comfortably exceed 400 miles of real-world EPA-equivalent range if it eventually launches in North America.
That growing range capability reflects a broader trend across the luxury EV market. Premium automakers increasingly view 400 miles as the new benchmark, replacing the 300-mile target that dominated electric vehicle development just a few years ago.
Even so, Mercedes still faces stiff competition from BMW. The BMW i3 reportedly delivers up to 559 miles, or 900 kilometers, on a single charge in dual-motor form thanks to a larger battery setup.
Industry observers believe a future single-motor version of the BMW i3 could potentially surpass 600 miles of range.
Despite that rivalry, the rear-wheel-drive Mercedes Electric C-Class may ultimately become the company’s volume seller because of its expected balance between efficiency, affordability and practicality.

Luxury Features Push Pricing Much Higher
The current C400 4Matic delivers strong performance alongside its long-range capability. The sedan accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just four seconds, placing it firmly within premium sports sedan territory.
However, Mercedes buyers often spend heavily on optional upgrades, and the new electric model is no exception.
Adding the AMG Line package costs an additional €3,451. That upgrade replaces the standard 18-inch wheels with more aggressive 19-inch AMG aero wheels while also adding sportier bumpers and side skirts.
Customers seeking body-hugging sports seats must move up to the AMG Line Plus package, priced at €7,556. That package also introduces extra AMG styling elements and different wheel designs.
Technology upgrades also raise the final price quickly. The optional MBUX Hyperscreen, a massive 39.1-inch pillar-to-pillar display replacing the standard three-screen setup, adds another €1,487.
Meanwhile, the augmented reality head-up display costs €1,249.
Mercedes Electric C-Class Adds Advanced Driving Tech
One of the most important options for the sedan may be the Agility and Comfort Package.
Priced at €2,844, the package adds air suspension and rear-wheel steering. Early impressions suggest the system dramatically improves both ride comfort and handling dynamics.
The addition of rear-wheel steering could prove particularly valuable in urban driving, where larger EV sedans often feel heavier and less agile because of battery weight.
Fully equipped, the Mercedes Electric C-Class can exceed €96,000 before taxes and additional market-specific costs.
Mercedes is also preparing more powerful variants, including a future AMG model expected to rival high-performance electric sedans from BMW.
Reports suggest the flagship AMG version could feature a tri-motor setup producing around 800 horsepower.
Luxury EV Competition Continues Intensifying
The Mercedes Electric C-Class enters a market that is becoming increasingly competitive among premium automakers.
Luxury brands are now racing not only on acceleration and technology, but also on charging speed, efficiency and long-distance capability.
Mercedes appears focused on balancing performance with everyday usability. While the current dual-motor C400 targets buyers seeking strong acceleration, the upcoming single-motor version may appeal to customers prioritising range, efficiency and lower ownership costs.
As battery technology improves and charging infrastructure expands globally, long-range electric sedans are quickly becoming central to the future strategies of luxury carmakers.
For Mercedes, the electric C-Class represents more than just another EV launch. It signals how traditional premium sedans are evolving into highly connected, long-range electric vehicles designed to compete directly with the next generation of BMW, Lucid and Tesla products.
