The MG4 Electric 64 kWh delivers a smart mix of performance, efficiency, and affordability. This compact electric hatchback targets drivers who need everyday practicality without sacrificing range. As a result, it has become one of the most appealing value EVs available in 2025.

Battery & Range

The MG4 runs on a 64 kWh NCM battery, with 61.7 kWh usable capacity. In mild weather, it reaches up to 415 km on a single charge. However, in colder conditions, the range drops to around 305 km. Average energy use sits at about 171 Wh per kilometre. Therefore, it works well for city driving and moderate long-distance trips.

Charging Capabilities

For home charging, the MG4 supports AC input of up to 6.6 kW. This speed fills the battery in roughly 11 hours and adds around 33 km of range per hour. On the road, you can use DC fast charging at up to 135 kW. This feature allows you to recharge from 10% to 80% in about 35 minutes, which is ideal for travel breaks.

Performance & Driving Dynamics

A 150 kW (204 hp) rear-mounted electric motor powers the MG4. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of about 160 km/h. Because it is rear-wheel drive, it offers stable cornering and balanced handling. In addition, regenerative braking boosts efficiency and returns energy to the battery.

Dimensions & Practicality

The MG4’s design provides both style and space. It comes with five doors and a wheelbase optimised for cabin comfort. The boot holds 363 litres with the seats upright and expands to 1,177 litres when folded. Consequently, it handles daily shopping, commuting, and small family trips with ease.

Safety & Market Appeal

MG designed the MG4 with modern styling and driver-focused safety features. Many drivers praise its smooth ride, responsive steering, and solid build. Combined with its low running costs, these qualities make it attractive to city commuters and budget-conscious families.

Pricing Overview

Pricing for the MG4 Electric 64 kWh is competitive within the long-range EV category. It costs less than many rivals, yet still delivers strong performance and usable range. This balance of price and capability helps it stand out in a crowded market.

The MG4 Electric 64 kWh offers excellent value for money. It provides a respectable driving range, quick charging options, and a comfortable interior at a reasonable price. Although it lacks the premium feel of some competitors, its combination of practicality, efficiency, and affordability makes it an outstanding everyday EV.
