Changan Automobile’s NEV unit Deepal has officially launched the updated Deepal S07 Huawei edition, a mid-size SUV with Huawei’s Qiankun smart driving system. The model continues to offer both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions.
The five-seat SUV provides two BEV variants priced from RMB 156,900 ($22,060) and RMB 166,900. In addition, three EREV models start at RMB 156,900, RMB 166,900, and RMB 173,900. Prices have therefore risen by RMB 7,000, or 4.67 percent, compared with the previous generation’s entry price of RMB 149,900.
The S07 keeps the same dimensions as its predecessor: 4,750 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, 1,625 mm tall, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. The BEV models come with a rear motor rated at 200 kW (268 horsepower) and 290 Nm of torque. As a result, they accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. A 68.82-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery delivers a range of 550 km under CLTC standards.
Meanwhile, the EREV models use a 1.5-liter engine as a range extender. It achieves a thermal efficiency of 44.39 percent and generates 3.7 kWh per liter of gasoline. The system supports outputs up to 190 kW, reaching 0–100 km/h in 7.5 or 7.6 seconds. These variants feature LFP batteries of 31.73 kWh and 39.05 kWh. Therefore, they provide pure electric ranges of 230 km and 300 km. When fully fueled and charged, the total driving range climbs to 1,320 km and 1,385 km.
A major highlight is Huawei’s Qiankun ADS SE smart driving assistance system. This is the entry-level tier in Huawei’s lineup, which also includes ADS Pro, ADS Max, and ADS Ultra. In addition, the system improves safety and driving support through advanced algorithms and hardware.
Deepal entered the market in 2022, launching with the SL03 sedan as a Tesla Model 3 competitor. Since then, the lineup has expanded to include the S05 SUV, L07 sedan, SL03 sedan, and G318 SUV. Alongside the new S07, Deepal also introduced the updated L07 sedan with BEV and EREV options. Its starting price is RMB 145,900 ($20,350), and it also uses Huawei’s Qiankun technology.
