Zhejiang Dianka Automobile Technology Co. Ltd., trading as Enovate (formerly Dearcc), is a Chinese automobile manufacturing company headquartered in Zhejiang, China. The company specializes in the production of electric vehicles (EVs). Founded on June 23, 2015, Enovate launched two models: the Dearcc EV10 and the Enovate ME7, with an all-electric range of up to 155 km (96 mi).

History
Dearcc (2015–2018)
In mid-2015, Chinese entrepreneur Hailiang Zhang founded Zhejiang Dianka Automobile Technology Co. Ltd. in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, China. The company aimed to develop a range of electric vehicles focusing on budget-conscious consumers.
In November 2017, Dearcc introduced its first electric vehicle, the Dearcc EV10, a small, five-door hatchback with an electric drivetrain. Production of the EV10 began in April 2017 at the company’s manufacturing facility in Shaoxing for the domestic Chinese market.
By May 2018, the company had delivered 1,000 units of the EV10 to customers. However, production ceased less than a year later due to a strategic shift toward higher-end electric vehicles and the rebranding of the company.
Enovate (2018–Present)
In November 2018, Dearcc rebranded as Enovate Motors, pivoting towards premium electric vehicles with advanced technology.
- December 2018: Enovate introduced the Enovate ME7, a luxury compact electric SUV.
- May 2019: The ME7 officially went on sale in China.
- 2019: The company unveiled a concept for a luxury electric sedan, the Enovate ME-S.
- July 2021: Enovate expanded its portfolio with the launch of the Enovate ME5, a smaller electric SUV.
In December 2022, Enovate announced its first overseas expansion project, signing an agreement with Saudi Arabian investors to construct a manufacturing plant outside of China. This move aimed to facilitate market expansion, particularly targeting Europe.
Financial Challenges and Market Struggles
In April 2023, Enovate faced severe financial difficulties:
- The company closed its showrooms in major shopping malls across China.
- Employee salaries were reduced due to financial instability.
- Production of the ME5 and ME7 ceased.
- The company’s Changsha factory was shut down.
By early 2024, Enovate failed to secure additional investment, leading to pre-bankruptcy proceedings. Its assets were frozen, further diminishing the possibility of recovery.
